Description

The World Resources Institute (WRI) is an environmental research and policy organization that creates solutions to protect the Earth and improve people's lives. 

WRI seeks an intern with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to assist with the Green Power Market Development Group. The Green Power Group is a unique commercial and industrial partnership dedicated to building corporate markets for green power.

This position will allow the intern to play a role in helping major companies identify renewable energy opportunities through conducting research, analysis, and general support for the project. 

Major responsibilities: 

* Work with WRI team members to identify attractive green power options for Group members 
* Conduct research and write summaries on renewable energy technologies, recent technical developments, new product offerings, and green power suppliers 
* Support dissemination of strategies and tools to various audiences
* Research and draft case studies on corporate green power projects
* Assist WRI team with media and communications activities (e.g., help coordinate press releases, update Group website)
* Support other activities as needed. 

Qualifications: 

* At least a bachelors degree in economics, business administration, government/public policy, environmental science or a related field 
* Excellent academic performance
* Fluency in European languages a plus
* Knowledge of the energy sector, renewable energy technologies, and/or climate change issues
* Familiarity with public policy options for supporting renewables or addressing climate change
* Excellent research and writing skills. Good, mature telephone interviewing skills
* Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, and work under tight deadlines. 

WRI is particularly interested in an individual who is willing to commit at least 4-6 months to the project.
