The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia is a membership organization building a just and sustainable economy in the Philadelphia region by connecting, supporting and promoting locally owned, independent businesses.

The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia's Green Economy Department recruits and manages partnerships with employers to support 3 program areas: research, public education, and job training. This is a new position.

SBN is a rapidly growing, results-oriented organization located in Center City, Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Expand SBN's green business partnership strategy to maximize SBN's business relationships to support research, education, and job training initiatives. Support the Emerging Industries Project, an ongoing research program, to identify and map the occupational needs of regional green businesses and outline industry-specific career pipelines for workers. Work directly with career counselors at community-based organizations to assist in job training program development, troubleshooting, and job placement.

Cultivate new business partners annually to support green economy research, public education, and job training initiatives. Support research projects that inform the work of partnership programs. Manage contract reporting. Develop monthly meetings, events, and site visits.

Reporting:

The Green Partnerships Associate will report to the Director of Green Economy Initiatives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has: 3-5 years experience working with regional businesses. Previous experience should include project management and contract reporting. Candidate should have demonstrated professional research and presentation experience. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to embrace change. Some demonstrated commitment to SBN's values. Experience working with diverse communities. Self-motivated; able to work independently and balance multiple tasks. Proficiency with basic computer skills is required; experience with PowerPoint and Adobe Suite is a plus. Event planning experience is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Studies or another relevant field.

Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position. Salary level depends on experience; salary range is $30,000 $35,000 plus benefits.
