MarketFactory is a high-growth company founded in July 2007 with the goal of making a positive impact on the world, starting with the world of financial services. We want to be a leading technology platform company, focusing initially on electronically traded markets.

We are a team of engineers, developers, business analysts and quants who embrace Agile development, unit testing, and open source tools and libraries. We characterize ourselves as analytical and creative, with an appetite for the occasional risk. Our adventures include waterskiing off the back of a catamaran, building a motorcycle and driving it cross country, climbing the inside of a factory smokestack, and swimming a collective 25 miles in the Hudson River.

We are developing a platform that focuses on the thorniest problems in trading; speed of light issues in message transmission, dynamically generated markets, rapid liquidity provision.

Every employee in the company is an equity owner. It's important that we build a performance-based culture free of politics and hidden agendas, where everyone acts like it's their business, because it is.

While we're still an early-stage startup, we'd like to start giving a little back now. We've donated 1% of our founder's equity to a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization called MarketFactory Foundation and in the future hope to donate more towards supporting the communities in which we live and work.

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking an ambitious Executive Coordinator to run office administration and operations in an environmentally sustainable yet scalable fashion.
  • This role will assume all the responsibilities of a traditional assistant and office manager, but will be given the mandate to re-think the daily operations of an office and implement ways to run it in a more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable fashion.
  • Regarding assistant and secretarial duties: we are digitally savvy folks who believe in answering our own phones, booking our own travel, and arranging our own meetings. We also have live by the mantra "no one is above making the coffee". However, occasionally we need help in these types of duties in which case it would be your responsibility.
  • Must be willing and flexible to work late/outside office hours when needed.
  • This is an exciting role for which we can envision many paths for career growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from four-year university
  • Strong Word, Powerpoint, and Excel skills. General Web and tech-savviness a must
  • Light bookkeeping, data entry and accounting skills (Quickbooks)
  • Establish and implement new office operations and procedures
  • Proficiency with procurement; vendor analysis and relations, product comparisons
  • Maintain office records with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to complete projects without supervision. Ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong work ethic
  • Proactive environmental stewardship of company's office operations
  • Strong knowledge of environmental issues and solutions and ability to educate others on them
