Position Overview:

Center for Resource Solutions is seeking a part-time volunteer to assist with various research and program related activities. Green-e Marketplace is a unique certification program that recognizes organizations using certified renewable energy and/or carbon offsets and enables them to demonstrate their environmental commitment through the use of the nationally recognized Green-e logo. 

This is a great opportunity to gain practical renewable energy, climate change, and nonprofit office experience, and to be exposed to a variety of topics and organizations in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities: 

The volunteer should expect to split time among the following types of activities; others may be available based on the volunteer's interest and ability, and CRS's needs:

  • Research. Areas of research generally include international electricity markets, government policy, stakeholder mapping, renewable energy certification programs, and renewable energy purchasers. Ideally, candidates will be able to analyze and synthesize information to produces summary briefs.  Program related research will also include information on the printing, paper, and graphic design industries, with some opportunity for outreach and event planning. Higher-level research projects are also an option if candidate demonstrates interest in and familiarity with renewable energy and carbon markets.
  • Administration and Data Systems. Various support roles as necessary, including contract processing and document editing.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have excellent internet research skills, organizational skills, Microsoft Excel and Salesforce competency, and a passion for renewable energy. Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, climate change, renewable energy, and carbon offsets is a plus, as is experience with renewables outside of the US.  Half time commitment for 3 months or equivalent is desired.
