Green Building Internships at Montgomery County Public Schools - Division of Construction
Montgomery County Public Schools has almost 200 schools and more than 20 million sf. of facilities. The school system is the largest employer in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Division of Construction is supervising all new construction and renovations within the K through 12 school system. Montgomery County and the school system are committed to sustainable design principles and LEED , as outlined in our MCPS High Performance Green Building Plan.

The intern will work under direct supervision of the Green Building Program Manager of the Division of Construction and other project managers in work related to design and construction processes.
Some of the work description includes organizing meetings, gathering and updating project data, research, participating in design committee meetings and the design milestone review process, site visits, and other related work as directed by a supervisor.
The position will grant work experience and priceless insight into the day to day challenges and rewards of construction for education, the second largest building sector in the nation.
Applicants should commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week. This is a volunteer position.
