Grassroots Internship in Washington, DC
About LCVEF
The League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) research and educational organization dedicated to increasing the capacity of regional, state and local grassroots environmental organizations to affect the public policy debate. Originally founded in 1985 under the name American Horizons, LCVEF has become a trusted, credible, non-partisan source of information for public officials, the environmental community and the general public. LCVEF has undertaken projects that educate the environmental community and key decision-makers about environmental issues and build working relationships between these groups.
The Grassroots Program is a long-term effort to build the capacity of environmental groups and their allies to involve their members in the democratic process. Through both the national office and field offices, located in Alaska, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina and Washington, the program includes organizational list enhancement, message development, and grassroots organizing. LCVEF publications include a legal manual and a how-to handbook for developing list projects, and a campaign skills training manual. We work extensively with organizers on the state, regional and national level.
