NatureServe is a non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to provide the scientific basis for effective conservation action. NatureServe and its network of natural heritage programs are the leading source for information about rare and endangered species and threatened ecosystems.
Position Overview:
NatureServe is seeking a GIS Analyst/Conservation Biologist to join its Conservation Services team. This position may work out of NatureServe's Arlington, Virginia headquarters or its Boston, Boulder, or Durham regional office.
The GIS Analyst/Conservation Biologist will support spatial data analysis, development, and management needs of NatureServe. This support will come in the form of project design and implementation for conservation assessment and planning, spatial analysis, species habitat and range mapping, ecosystem mapping and modeling, and spatial data management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in wildlife ecology, landscape ecology, conservation biology, ecology, geography, or related discipline and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in natural resource management and conservation applications of GIS and spatial analysis.
