Position Overview
The geothermal resource manager reports directly to the general manager and directly supervises the drilling and resource employees, directing the activities of obtaining, organizing and interpreting geological, geophysical, geochemical and production data for the expansion and exploitation of the geothermal reservoir and the drilling and reservoir management.
This position manages the drilling and resource departments, including drilling operations on a 24/7/365 basis and other well maintenance work as required. This position is also responsible for providing a broad range of technical and scientific support to power generation operations, including resource and drilling operations, environmental compliance, development and other departments as required.

Responsibilities
- Oversees daily 24/7 operations of the resource and drilling department.
- Develops and maintains up-to-date geologic maps of the well field and surrounding development area, including structure, temperature and faults.
- Manage all data acquisition, processing and interpretations.
- Maintain geologic/geophysical data within 3D database.
- Design well plans for new wells to drill safely and protect the down-hole formations.
- Manage budget for drilling and resource activities and assist in the preparation of the department budget and 10 year drilling plans.
- Provide technical support and consulting support for the geothermal expansion projects.
- Utilize and interpret well and reservoir data to integrate geology with geophysical interpretations, and collect, organize, evaluate and map data to make appropriate recommendations for development decisions.
- Compiles well histories and develops AFE's.
- Oversee acquisition of tracer enthalpy data in conjunction with reservoir performance and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and coordinate with contractors for data reporting for micro-seismic and subsidence surveys with government agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in geology, geophysics or related science.
- 8 years of related experience and/or additional resource-related training, including three years supervisory / management responsibilities.
- Geothermal geology experience is preferred, and some experience in oil and gas is also desired.
- Ability to work with available interpretive and visualization software: AutoCAD, Rimbase, ArcGIS, Seismic Micro-Technology 2d/3d Pak.
- Knowledge of drilling and reservoir management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
- Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to solve tough problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to synergize several inconsistent partial data sets to arrive at abstract answers.
- Ability to visualize and comprehend the dynamic conditions and possibilities that occur during well field development.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
- Must be able to work with coordinate systems.
- Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
- A valid California driver's license is required.
