Description

A national consumer-health advocacy group is seeking an expert on food and agriculture policy to develop and advocate farm, nutrition, and food policies that would promote a diet based largely on plant foods, as well as more-nutritious meat and dairy products. This Director also would help build a coalition among diverse organizations and educate the public. This is a unique opportunity for someone motivated to improve the public's health and the environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of federal farm programs (such as grain and dairy programs), as well as food and nutrition policies. A degree in agricultural economics, nutrition policy, law, or public policy is strongly preferred. Five to ten years issue-related experience with nonprofit organizations, government, or university is required, as is demonstrated concern about and passion for health and the environment, along with demonstrated advocacy experience.
