Financial Journalist

VB/Research is a leading global source of sector-focused proprietary deal intelligence, data, news and research on investors and their investments, M&A and the public capital markets.

VB/Research seeks a talented, highly-motivated journalist to join its London office to cover the CleanTech and Renewable Energy sector.

Responsibilities:

• Real-time investigative coverage of the CleanTech & Renewable Energy sector (UK and Europe). Contribute breaking stories on a daily basis about a company that is about to go on the acquisition trail, or sell off part of its business, raise funding either in the public markets or privately etc
• Information will be sourced through proprietary research and interviews with the leading experts in the sectors. We expect the candidate to develop his / her own network of investors and industry sources overtime

Qualifications:

• Fluent English (mother tongue)
• UK / European working permit
• A track record reporting breaking news on subjects related to corporate finance, investment funds (hedge funds, VCs, private equity funds), the markets, as well as public and private companies
• The candidate is expected to take an investigative approach to writing articles and constantly aim to provide the most unique and best researched insight
• An inquisitive mind is a prerequisite along with a strong interest in becoming an authoritative figure on the sectors covered
• The candidate will report to the Managing Editor
• Post-graduate level degree in journalism; 2 years experience writing financial articles would be ideal
• Major foreign languages a distinct advantage
