Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and the Controller and in coordination with program managers, this position will support the identification and initiation of opportunities for improving business performance. Primary duties include assisting in the preparation and monitoring of the organizations annual budgets and forecasts, providing financial analytical support for program budgets and consulting projects and ensuring compliance to record-keeping and reporting standards to BSRs funders.
Financial Reporting
- Run membership revenue recognition
- Generate and distribute monthly financial package to senior management and budget managers
- Run and distribute management reports, e.g. hour reports
- Create and modify financial reports templates in Crystal and FRX report writer
Billing and Accounts Receivable
- Run and review Solomon Allocator
- Generate prelim invoices and reports
- Distribute prelim invoices and project manager reports to the project managers for approval
- Mail out approved invoices
- Support special invoicing requirements outside of normal accounting procedures
- Manage aged invoices by mailing reminder notices and following up with project managers
- Setup, maintenance, and closing out advisory services projects within Solomon
Grants and Contracts Administration
- Prepare grant financial reports with program team leaders when grant reports are due
- Prepare monthly expenses as instructed
- Prepare supporting reports for periodic government grant reports including ACH draws, SF-272, minority vendor reports
- File annual state regulatory compliance reports, e.g.Sales Tax Reports
Budget Support
- Supports the Director of Finance in the development of detailed program and organization budgets.
- On an as neede basis, prepare, review and conduct budget variance analysis
- Produce ad-hoc budget reports to analyze profitability, e.g. Labor Law expenses report.
General Finance
- Provide ongoing financial support and training to staff, e.g. E-time.
- Provide support to accounting department as required e.g. preparing audit schedules
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with two years combined work experience in accounting and finance
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Crystal Reports, FRX reporting
- Familiarity with mid-size computerized accounting programs e.g. Solomon IV highly desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
