Position Overview:

The Field Technical Support Associate will report to the Industry Segment  Manager and will work directly with our Sales Team and customers as the key  person ensuring that our enzymes meet our customer's needs and expectations  and to provide overall technical support at grain processing ethanol plants.

Responsibilities:

The Field Technical Support Associate will:

  • Assist customers in new enzyme product use and application by providing product information such as application, design and coordination of product trials, data gathering and analysis, report completion and presentation of results to drive account conversion
  • Conduct site surveys of the ethanol fermentation process, develop plant technical mappings and process reviews determining the proper protocol for enzyme product use.
  • Utilize technology and troubleshooting skills to identify and propose improvements to help optimize customer operations and be a technical point of contact to coordinate additional technical resources (biological, engineering etc) to investigate and find the root cause of problems and develop solutions
  • Possess basic account management skills to allow successful interaction at all levels of plant personnel (operator to plant manager)
  • Provide on-going product application reviews to customer accounts
  • Ensure the highest standards are achieved for our customers in the areas of safety, environmental compliance and process efficiency and reliability when using our product.
  • Conduct technical training and enzyme briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in a biological or chemical science, engineering or a related field and/or over 5 years comprehensive hands-on experience working with grain processing plants

Critical Competencies:

  • Must be an ambitious self starter able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and be passionate in the pursuit of implementing process improvements
  • Must be effective at the customer interface, working with the sales leaders, to bring technical solutions to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Must be willing to travel 50% of the time (including some weekends) and work extended hours to support customer trials and as necessary to meet deadlines or to ensure customer success and resolve plant problems (10% International travel, 90% domestic estimated)
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment, able to deal with ambiguity and function autonomously.
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams serving customers
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and basic statistical analysis
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills (including presentations), both internal and external
  • Desire candidate with proven success as a team leader and team member able to influence others in decision-making
