Field Quality Engineer

Position Overview 

We are seeking a full-time Field Quality Engineer to join our team in Hartlebury, West Midlands, United Kingdom. This is a new position and offers an opportunity to get involved in all aspects for a rapidly growing business unit with enormous room for advancement.

Endurance Wind Power is a leader in the ‘small-medium wind' distributed generation industry and is undergoing substantial growth.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Production and Project Management team members in UK, Canada and Denmark, the Field Quality Engineer will work with various stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to improve the customers' experience with the turbine before installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Investigate and troubleshoot field issues identified before turbines are installed.
• Be the escalation point for Field Technicians and Technical Service Engineers for issues identified after turbine commissioning.
• Be the first point of contact for customers on quality issues and resolutions for turbines and related equipment before installation.
• Collaborate on documenting field issues and resolutions.
• Identify the root cause of issues under potentially stressful and time-bound conditions.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Technical Services Engineers in order to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
• Consult with and advise Project Management and development teams on technical issues.
• Develop process, procedures, and tools to aid reporting of field issues and validation of resolutions.
• Collect and review customer experience metrics to identify trends and proactively mitigate issues.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Provide regular, detailed status reports.

Qualifications

• The position also requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to deal with constantly changing requirements and priorities.
• Superior organizational skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of Executive/Senior staff and clients and customers, sometimes in challenging situations, are a must.
• In addition to proven trouble-shooting and root cause analysis acumen, preference will be given to candidates with a track record in structural steel fabrication, weld inspection and managing various types of industrial suppliers, e.g. metal fabrication, welding, painting, fibreglass repair, non-destructive testing, etc.
• Experience in the wind industry is desirable but not required.
• Due to the international nature of the company's business, this position requires flexible, irregular working hours and the ability to travel locally 50% and internationally 20%.
• Candidates should have completed post-secondary education in an appropriate related discipline and have experience in related industry.
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess a proven history of meeting customer expectations while efficiently and effectively managing company resources.
