Description
Our Local Foods is looking for farm workers. We are a farm in McClellanville, SC on the beautiful 100 acre Thornhill Farm, which has an ideal climate for year round production of organic vegetables. The Our Local Foods team works with Adaptive Gardens of the Lowcountry, has a farm store, operates a CSA, and runs a delivery service of local SC produce, prepared foods, all natural meats, and many other goods.
Responsibilities:
Duties may include:
- Harvesting
- Propagation/Planting
- Planting Bed Preparation
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Packing CSA orders
- Spraying organic pesticides
- Collecting, cleaning, and packaging eggs and produce
- Farmer's Market stand
Qualifications:
Applicant must be passionate about supporting a farming community, familiar with organic and sustainable farming, and an eagerness to join our team. Must have a positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and an ability to learn.
While working with Our Local Foods you will learn valuable information about organic farming procedures, plant diseases and treatments, and planting cycles. We are looking for both a part-time and full-time worker.
