Description
The Natural Land Institute, one of the oldest private land conservation groups in the Midwest, is seeking an Executive Director to take over leadership of the organization. Established in 1958 in Rockford, Illinois, the organization owns and manages 1,840 acres of land in northern Illinois and holds conservation easements on another 3,617 acres of natural areas and farmland throughout the state.
Responsibilities:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the organization and is responsible for securing financial support for its programs and projects, strategic planning, preparing budgets and monitoring finances, supervising staff, preparing annual work plans, representing the organization to the community, coordinating land conservation projects and educational programs, implementing Board policies, working with elected officials, and communicating with the Board of Trustees, members and the public.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have experience in fundraising and management of nonprofit organizations, and have a background in natural resources management.
