The Cascade Pacific Resource Conservations & Development, Inc (CPRCD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that provides assistance and leadership to rural community partners to help meet resource conservation and development challenges in the mid-Willamette Valley.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of Cascade Pacific RC&D Council as a 501(c)3, including fundraising, organizational growth, providing oversight, direction and management to CPRCD staff and building partnerships and networks to expand CPRCD projects and programs in areas currently underserved.
Duties of the Executive Director are separate but complimentary to those of the NRCS Coordinator with whom a strong team leadership partnership is necessary to achieve the goals and success of CPRCD Programs.
The Executive Director will also work closely with the Board and Staff to provide support to all operations of CPRCD and to monitor its position in the local and national market. S/He will work to ensure the Board and staff are acting and making decisions according to the strategic directions established with the Board and NRCS strategic plan and will work in partnership with the RC&D Coordinator to ensure that all aspects of the NRCS annual area work plan and strategic plan are met.
The Executive Director should provide leadership and support in project development, fundraising, organizational capacity building, and outreach to the community
The position will be non-routine in nature and the incumbent will be required to work with many complex and diverse programs. Funding for the position is only in place for the first 6 months of employment. During that time the incumbent will be responsible to acquire additional funds through grants or other sources to sustain the position on a permanent basis.
The incumbent must be a proven leader and should be a person of honesty, integrity, and a true team player. The incumbent must demonstrate extensive management experience and high level performance in non-profit organizations, and in formulating and implementing fundraising strategies, including grant-writing successes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (land use planning, biology, environmental science, law, non-profit management, etc.)
- 3-5 years experience with non-profit management
- Natural science, conservation planning, financial management, and/or law background and experience.
- Organizational management experience including working with a Board of Directors, financial administration, and organizational capacity management and development.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful partnerships and funding networks.
- Demonstrated fundraising ability and accomplishments, both grant writing and individual fundraising.
- A strong commitment to land preservation and stewardship.
- A friendly and outgoing personality with the ability to work with and motivate the Board, staff, volunteers, potential donors, the public and the media, and enjoy doing it.
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills.
- Ability to be a self-starter, with a proactive nature and a long-range vision steeped in good judgment and creative thinking.
Compensation: 55,000-70,000
