Position Overview:
Oregon Rural Action seeks an Executive Director with a proven record of success in fundraising; exceptional leadership and communication skills; and supervisory experience. As the lead fundraiser for the organization, the Executive Director will develop, sustain, cultivate, and identify new sources of philanthropic support, including major donor gifts, foundation support, planned giving, and business donations. In addition, the Executive Director will supervise and support organizing staff and work with the Board of Directors in strategic campaign work, member recruitment, leadership development, and internal fundraising.
Qualifications:
The Executive Director of Oregon Rural Action is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and meets the following requirements:
- Commitment to the mission, values and goals of Oregon Rural Action and the community organizing approach to social change.
- Proven record of success in fundraising.
- Experience in managing staff and working with others to achieve goals.
- Ability to articulately express oneself verbally and in writing, and be a good listener.
- Ability to relate to people from different backgrounds and empower others to speak and act for themselves.
- Willingness to work hard without sacrificing personal well-being.
- Available to work some evenings and weekends.
- 2-year commitment to the job preferable.
- Transportation must be available (mileage will be reimbursed).
Compensation: Salary DOE and offers paid vacation and health benefits. The full-time position is based in the picturesque small town of La Grande, Oregon, surrounded by the Wallowa and Blue Mountains.
