Description
Recently established, the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan (AEFP) is a not-for-profit industry driven corporation located in Edmonton with a voluntary Board of Directors representing Alberta agricultural producers, municipal, provincial and federal governments and the agriculture industry.
AEFP implements a voluntary self-assessment Program targeted to increase awareness between farm practices and environmental sustainability, to deliver self-assessment tools and knowledge of beneficial practices and areas of improvement, and to establish linkages between producers and technical and/or funding sources. The Program is in operation.
Duties
The Executive Director will be the driving force in facilitating the adoption of environmental farm plans in Alberta and in achieving the strategic and participation objectives of the corporation.
The Executive Director will be responsible for generating revenue for the corporation and delivering the Program through relationships with commodity and industry organizations, rural municipalities, and other groups.
Qualifications:
- ten plus years of progressive management and leadership experience,
- a record of strategic planning and implementation, a genuine interest in a quality agriculture environment, and a passion for working with and for producers.
- Political astuteness, good people/team skills, familiarity with communication strategy development and ability to prepare and manage within a budget are important.
- Ideally, the Executive Director should have a B.Sc.Ag, proven ability in revenue generation, familiarity with ag environmental policy, good communication skills, and experience in non-profit organization leadership.
