Description
Background:
At the intersection of the arts and the environment, the intersection of two
of America's busiest highways - Singular opportunity to direct the
remediation and preservation of 46 acres of open space and freshwater
wetlands through the creation of a unique environmental, educational, art,
and cultural reserve within the Bergen County's greater Overpeck Park
complex.
The Teaneck Creek Conservancy, a private nonprofit organization
established in partnership with the Bergen County Department of Parks and
the Township of Teaneck, is searching for an Executive Director to oversee
the establishment Teaneck Creek Cultural Park.
Duties:
The ED will participate with consultants in start-up fundraising, and manage the Cultural Park's
construction, operation, maintenance, and programming.
Principle duties
include fundraising in private and public sectors, grant writing
supervision, board recruitment and development, program development and
coordination for environmental education, sculptural and environmental arts
projects and community events, liason with government officials and
agencies, and public relations.
Emphasis on arts and wetland science
education, community and school involvement, volunteer programs.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: 3 - 5 years in nonprofit management with experience in
fundraising and board development. Experience in environmental and arts
programming preferred.
