The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 17,000 corporate and organizational members from every sector of the building industry united to transform the building marketplace to sustainability, is currently seeking personable and detail-oriented individuals in the Education and Research and Conference and Events Departments.
Position Overview:
Working in a polished and professional manner, the Executive Administrative Assistants provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Vice President for Education & Research and other senior staff of the department or the Vice President of Conference and Events, including handling calls and email traffic, scheduling meetings and educational programs, planning travel, preparing documents, filing and copying.
Responsibilities:
- Fielding calls and email traffic
- Processing expense reports and timesheets
- Scheduling conference calls
- Managing schedules and appointments
- Preparing travel arrangements
- Document preparation, including PowerPoint presentations
- Filing/copying
- Providing departmental overflow administrative support
- Other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience working in a office environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred
- Strong computer skills including demonstrated fluency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, internet, e-mail, mail merge
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player
- Ability to work well with a diverse professional staff, take on special projects and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail and deadline oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and have excellent organizational skills
- Commitment to USGBC mission
