Description
~ Energy Environmental Group (EEG), an ECS subsidiary company, provides environmental compliance, planning, and permitting services for ECS. Primary environmental services include environmental compliance and inspection; land and right-of-way management; sensitive resource management; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP); federal, state, and local permitting; siting and routing studies, Geographic Information (GIS), etc. ~
Responsibilities
Job Description Summary:
- Demonstrates basic understanding of applicable environmental laws, environmental best management practices (BMPs), field construction practices, employee environmental training, and working with local, state and federal land management agencies.
- Works with construction management and government agencies to ensure comprehensive environmental compliance throughout all phases of transmission line construction.
- Complete pre-construction surveys within the project right-of-way (ROW) and surrounding areas.
- Inspects, evaluates, and amends project BMPs in accordance with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and contractual requirements.
- Participate in daily and weekly pre-construction look-ahead meetings.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly reports as specified in the project documents.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental permits.
- Strictly adhere to Owner's environmental policies and procedures.
- Conducts daily inspection of construction activities for compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, including ROW grant/special-use authorization, plan of developments (POD), permits/plans, and landowner agreements during construction.
- Serves as technical resource to construction personnel to explain environmental regulations and how they are applied to specific situations.
- Verifies construction work areas, access roads, and features are properly marked and flagged prior to initiation of work.
- Serves as field point of contact for third-party field monitors.
- Identifies, documents, and oversees corrective actions to resolve noncompliance issues.
- Inspects and documents reclamation and re-vegetation activities.
- Maintain good communication with the Owner's Construction Inspection team, EC Source Lead Environmental Inspector, and work crews.

Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
- Education and/or Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental resource field
- 1-5 Years’ experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Hazwoper 40HR
- CISEC or CESSWI Stormwater Certification
- OSHA 10HR
- Field data collection and reporting technologies (GPS, mobile devices, GIS, etc.).
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to perform work duties independently
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy
- Ability to multitask and maintain effectiveness with multiple priorities
- Professional demeanor; remain calm and emotionally controlled under pressure
