Description

~ Raudenbush is a full-service engineering firm providing site planning, land development, structural engineering, landscape architecture, transportation design, surveying, and environmental engineering. Clients include all state departments and many commercial developers/ contractors throughout Pennsylvania. ~ 

Position Overview 

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Scientist in either our Middletown office.

Responsibilities  

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Project and client management.
  • Perform jurisdictional wetland and watercourse identification and delineation studies in accordance with USACE and state protocols, procedures and methodologies.
  • Preparation of technical and research reports such as environmental impact reports.
  • Creation of state and federal permit application packages and coordination of the acquisition of permit authorizations.
  • Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relationships with groups and individuals, agencies and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.
  • Business development and pursuit of environmental clients in governmental agencies in governmental (local, county, state), bureaus and the private sector.
  • Preparation of environmental project proposals, including scope and costs. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geo-Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • Must have completed a USACE-approved wetland delineation training. 
  • Experience with completing wetland presence and absence reports, PNDI searches, and web soil surveys a must.
  • Familiarity with environmental requirements for transportation and land development projects in Pennsylvania and Maryland. 

Knowledge of NEPA documentation process, including: 

  • Experience with Categorical Exclusion Evaluations (CEEs).
  • Preparation of Environmental Assessments (EAs).
  • Preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).
  • Proficiency with completing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). 

Additionally:  

  • Demonstrated experience in completing environmental permitting packages for streams, wetlands or other environmental features.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and serve as the lead environmental consultant on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with multiple project stakeholders and regulators, including Project Managers, Owners, and agencies including PA DEP, USACE, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.
  • 5 to 10 years experience.
