NTS was founded in June of 1985 by Mike Appelwick and Tom Lucas. NTS began with services managing, operating, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants and providing basic wet chemistry laboratory analysis to these facilities. NTS at that time employed a staff of six.

NTS provides a broad spectrum of environmental services. Since 1985, NTS has evolved into a full-service environmental company providing consulting, engineering, engineering support services, data management, and water and wastewater treatment operation and management services to industrial, municipal, and state governmental clients. Our company is located in Virginia, Minnesota.
Position Overview:
NTS is seeking a mid-level environmental professional to assist in the areas of Environmental Assessment and Site Investigation.
Responsibilities:
- Phase I and II environmental site assessments and investigations related to petroleum-based and hazardous constituents and complete environmental due diligence activities as they pertain to Phase I ESAs.
- Design investigation work plans for soil, groundwater and vapor monitoring.
- Implement remedial activities and conduct field oversight of the remedial actions.
Qualifications:
Experience
- The desired professional should have excellent scientific writing skills.
- Be able to develop project budgets.
- Have a working knowledge of various MPCA regulatory programs.
- Be able to communicate with clients and regulators.
- Possess 5+ years experience working in the environmental field.
Education
- Educational requirements include a bachelors or masters degree in Geology/Hydrogeology or relevant equivalent.
Required Skills
- Experience with environmental media sampling methodologies, hydrogeologic contaminant transport principles, soil and groundwater remediation technologies.
- Familiar with EPA, MPCA, OSHA, MSHA, MnDOT, MNOPS, MDH and other regulatory agencies relevant to operation.
- Must be able to define problems, collect groundwater, soil and aquifer characterization data, establish facts, and accurately report findings in a clear, concise manner.
