Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Environmental Planner at the Assistant or Associate level.

This position works closely with other land use and environmental planners to prepare complex and detailed written documents and graphics for land use planning and environmental compliance projects. 

Qualifications  

  • High-quality technical writing skills and experience using Adobe Suite and ESRI ArcGIS software for cartographic and analysis purposes is required.
  • Experience in CEQA/NEPA is required.
  • Experience with graphics preparation and air quality analysis are a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will have superior attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical, artistic, and communication skills, and can work independently with limited supervision.


Required Background/Training:
 

  • Technical writing skills with CEQA/NEPA experience.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a field such as environmental studies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography, planning, or a related discipline.
  • Strong computer skills in areas such as data analysis and database management, spreadsheet software (MS Excel), introductory database skills (MS Access), and ArcCatalog software.
  • Understanding of geospatial topics and best practices including projections, data management and version control, spatial analysis techniques, linear referencing, editing features, field data collection techniques, and 3D GIS tool.
  • 3D visual simulation/modeling using SketchUp, AutoCAD, or other modeling software is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytic skills, and communication skills.
  • 3 Years of related professional work experience. 

Compensation: Position and salary are dependent on experience.
