Position Overview
Blue Delta Energy is seeking an individual to join our team as a 2015 summer intern. We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with excellent written and oral communication skills.
This individual will thrive in a team-driven atmosphere in New Haven, and should be capable of understanding the dynamics of multiple clean energy sources (wind, solar, thermal, biomass, hydro, fuels, etc.), how they generate environmental attributes (RECs, Carbon Offsets, RINs) and their implications in various markets (state, regional, federal, voluntary).
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Evaluate & track existing, proposed and new legislative & regulatory schemes to determine their impact on state and regional REC markets
- Help Blue Delta continue to stay ahead of legislation and shape the renewables and GHG reduction policy landscape, particularly at the state level (RPS programs, EPA Clean Power Plan)
- Focus on how new renewable technologies (ie. thermal, others) contribute to RPS expansions, EPA Clean Power Plan and how Blue Delta plays a role
- Conduct research and evaluation of renewables markets (energy, transportation, fuels) to help guide commercial focus for company as an asset manager and partner in carbon reduction strategies
- Assist in analyzing drivers relating to daily/weekly market shifts and collaborate on strategies for optimizing client portfolios
- Work with commercial side of Blue Delta to help identify revenue-driving opportunities
- Participate in relevant energy and GHG policy & market forums and committees at state and regional levels as identified
