Responsibilities: 

• Manages the department specific components of projects, including engineering, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Ensures technical excellence is performed by departmental staff of approximately 20 employees.
• Participates in technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
• Interfaces with Project Managers to determine specific project staffing needs.
• Participates in proposal presentations and business development activities.
• Identifies department needs and hires appropriate staff.
• Drives development and performance of staff in the group.
• Ensures financial performance of the group is consistent with office and company plans.
• Stewards and ensures implementation of LPS (health and safety) within the group.

Qualifications: 

10 plus years of proven experience in an engineering or professional services firm. 8 years of designated professional experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. P.E. (Professional Engineer) or equivalent is required.

The successful candidate will be able to lead and mentor a team. Will also be able to bring in new business and handle client development. Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in engineering, geology or related science required. Master's degree in engineering, geology or related science preferred.
Professional registration preferred.
