Environmental Attorney

Position Overview:

This position is for an experienced environmental lawyer focusing on APJ and/or chemical regulatory requirements .  Global environmental legal experience required. 

You'll be providing legal services and counsel to divisions, countries, regions and multi-entity managers to resolve or prevent problems of disputes, and to protect our market access. You will represent HP before government agencies and in negotiations, including M&A transactions. You will provide specialized legal advice and consultation at a highly specialized, experienced level. 

The candidate will have responsibility for the Asia Pacific region or environmental legal issues with respect to WW distribution and disposal of chemicals.  The position will advise on WW policies, review and assess proposed legislation, supervise local counsel, and assist in the interpretation and application of a wide variety of environmental legal requirements.  The position will also support supply chain and sales teams with related contract provisions.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience handling complex environmental matters with a preference for strong experience in chemical regulatory requirements or significant international environmental legal experience, particularly with respect to Asia.

Candidates should have a solid research and drafting skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced, challenging environment.  Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively in group settings and before senior management. Candidates must be hard working, well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under demanding deadline pressure. Candidates must have the highest ethical standards.  

• Bachelor of Law(LL.B.),  Juris Doctor(JD) degree or equivalent
• 8-10 years post bar experience and expert command of environmental legal specialty.
• 5-6 years experience in environmetal law.
• Fluency in English
