Entry Level, Solar Electric Installer

Borrego Solar Systems, Inc, a growing, solar energy design, engineering and installation company, with offices in northern and southern California currently seeks an Entry-Level Solar Electric Installer for our San Diego branch.

Located in west El Cajon (San Diego County), we are seeking a hard working mechanically minded individual to work in the field installing both residential and commercial grid-tied pv systems. Project locations will vary all over San Diego Country with occasional travel to Orange, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.

We are looking for individuals who are seeking to learn and master all aspects of installing solar pv systems. We promote from within and are looking for career minded individuals, looking to advance in the growing photovoltaic industry. A minimum 1 year commitment is required.

Installers work in groups of 4 servicing both residential and commercial installations on an alternative work schedule of 4 - 10 hour days. This is an entry-level position with an opportunity to work on both the mechanical and electrical side of installing solar pv systems. Candidate will be required to provide his/her own hand tools.

Applicants must be able to show they meet the following qualifications:

* Strong work ethic, self motivation, organization and a can-do attitude
* Experience in mechanical installations, general construction and ladder work
* Basic understanding/experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems PREFERRED * 1-2 years of construction background is PREFERRED Experience with all types of hand-held and power tools
* Experience with small machinery (trenchers, bobcats, forklifts) PREFERRED
* Experience working with all types of building materials - various roof types, stucco, wood, concrete, Uni-strut, roofing etc PREFERRED
* Team player who listens, learns, and actively communicates
* Visual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas
* Knowledge of the RE marketplace, technology and industry
* Desire to learn and master all aspects of installing solar pv systems
* H.S. Diploma, two-year degree in technology/industrial arts PREFERRED
* Has been employed by a well known contractor PREFERRED
