Position Overview:
An opportunity exists for an engineering analyst to join a team of engineers working in design and consulting for the wind industry. We seek an enthusiastic and talented individual with 2-5 years experience in rotating machinery and in particular in gears and rolling element bearings. This is a great chance to join an innovative and expanding company.
The role will be offered with an initial placing in the Romax Head Office in Nottingham, UK for up to 3 months. This placing will allow on the job training within large projects and allow for relationships to be built with worldwide staff and key experts in various technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to an engineering team performing CAE analysis for trouble-shooting and design optimisation of wind turbine drivetrain systems
- Contribute to discussions with customers to determine problem-solving approaches
- Construct CAE models of wind turbine drivetrain components using Romax software and other software
- Producing technical reports
- Delivering technical presentations
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 2 years or more CAE experience in a related field
- Experience of FE analysis of mechanical components
- Experience of data collection systems and sensors is beneficial
- Familiarity with drivetrain systems, including gear and bearing failure mechanisms and related standards, fatigue analysis, vibration analysis and lubrication system design is beneficial.
