Responsibilities:
- Work with Renewable Integration Assessment, which includes providing technical expertise to the planning and implementation studies to integrate renewable sources in a manner that preserves the stability, reliability, and operability of the utility systems and grid-side mitigation measures by using software applications like PSCAD, MATLAB, Simulink, PSLF, CymDist, analysis includes power flow, contingency and power quality analysis, static and dynamic reactive power requirements and optimization, Low-Voltage-Ride-Through analysis, Reliability analysis of distribution systems, perform analysis and verification of carbon reduction projects.
- System design and sizing of wind and solar technologies.
- Support projects in the application engineering of solar and wind projects which include renewable energy incentive analysis, production calculations, Return on Investment (ROI) Calculations.
- Calculation of capacity credit of wind electric conversion systems including the effect of seasonal changes, impact of variable load on capacity credit for reserve capacity planning in which coal-fired plants will be replaced by WECS.
- Project management.
- Assist in proposal preparation and White Papers.
- Follow the QUANTA processes, strategic directions, and vision.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- Must have graduate coursework or experience in the field of Renewables and Power System Analysis.
- Coursework and/or experience must include knowledge of methods of economic analysis, and principles of electrical engineering in the field of power system analysis including load flows, stability analysis, short circuit analysis, system protection, and power quality analysis.
