The Center for EcoTechnology provides energy analysis, diagnostic testing, and ENERGY STAR home certification for builders and remodelers.
Position Overview:
This position involves doing technical energy assessments and selling energy improvement measures to customers, as well as installing light bulbs and performing combustion safety tests. Energy auditing often involves standing on ladders, kneeling in cramped spaces, working in dusty areas, and being in cold or hot temperatures. The Energy Specialist position focuses on Screening Visits, Loan Inspections, and Rebate Inspections. This position is primarily based in Berkshire County.
Responsibilities:
- Selling air sealing and related services to customers
- Conducting residential energy assessments
- Conducting combustion safety tests
- Installing energy saving measures like light bulbs and weather-stripping in customer's homes
- Traveling to customer homes and arriving on time for 3 or more appointments per day and calling when schedule cannot be adhered to
- Following up with customers after the audit to encourage them to sign their air sealing contract and get a CET diagnostic visit
- Providing excellent customer service
- Providing all appropriate paperwork to customers
- Meeting or exceeding CET sales expectations
- Meeting or exceeding CET expectations for identifying roadblocks and scheduling diagnostic audits
- Meeting or exceeding CET expectations for installing energy savings measures (particularly light bulbs) in homes
- Keeping vehicle properly stocked with supplies and tracking use of supplies accurately
- Following CET policies and protocols, including accurate and timely completion of timesheets and travel sheets
- Thorough, accurate, and timely completion of all paperwork and data entry
- Nightly upload of data for audits completed that day
- Properly documenting unusual situations for future staff members or contractors who will visit the home
- Performing inspections for loans and rebates
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience working in field related to energy efficiency
- BPI Building Analyst certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Strong math / geometry / communication / computer / sales skills
- Ability to pass drug test, driving and background check
- Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests
- Use of a reliable vehicle and ability to transport materials
- Must possess valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Passion for the environment and community involvement
- Availability on two Saturdays per month
Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position with benefits located out of our Western Mass offices. CET offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 60% of the individual's health insurance costs. New employees are eligible for dental and disability insurance; accrue 10 days of paid vacation leave per year, 9 sick days and CET offers 12 paid holidays.
