GreenWorks Studio is dedicated to developing and applying innovative solutions in sustainable design and construction. Since 2002, we have provided services for more than 50 projects, totaling over ten million square feet, including two LEED Platinum-certified buildings and one of the first CHPS showcase schools.

Our staff includes licensed architects and engineers, and more than 45 LEED accredited professionals. We work with a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors and also serve as consultants to architects and construction management teams.

Position Overview:

Responsible for the development and implementation of LEED energy efficiency, carbon reduction and net zero energy strategies for building projects of various types and sizes.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Provide LEED-required Energy and Atmosphere design and modeling documentation  for new and existing building projects.
• Develop and document project specific LEED modeling and calculations as they pertain to Energy & Atmosphere and Indoor Environmental Quality requirements
• Document Carbon footprints for existing buildings and project carbon footprint information for new construction.
• Generate strategies to reduce carbon footprints for both new and existing construction.
• Work with design teams with Net Zero Energy goals.
• Provide general LEED and sustainable design consulting services for new and existing building projects.
• Prepare and monitor project status reports.
• Attend project meetings as necessary.
• Interface with project design team members as required for execution of LEED from and Energy & Atmosphere and Indoor Environmental Quality point of view.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture
  • Minimum five years of experience in A/E industry.
  • Understanding of ASHRAE Standards 90.1 (Energy Efficiency), 55-2004 (Thermal Comfort) and 62.1 (Ventilation) is required.
  • Energy modeling experience is required. (Trane Trace, Energy Pro or E-Quest preferred.)
  • Skills in daylighting analysis, and energy audits are desirable.
  • Energy Management Certification, and experience with Energy Star portfolio manager are desirable.

Good written and verbal communication skills. • Strong organizational skills. • Computer literate. • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible. • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations. • LEED Accreditation or ability to become accredited within 6 months of hire.
