Position Description:
EnerNOC has an immediate need for a Market Specialist to work with the Energy Markets group in its San Francisco office. Energy Markets supports EnerNOC's mission through market research and analysis, optimization of program participation, and execution of core operational tasks such as contract management, demand response program implementation and compliance, and customer relationship management. In addition, the Energy Markets team is tasked with identifying and expanding opportunities within existing and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Specialists become intimately familiar with 1-2 regional energy markets and the details of all demand response programs therein. Specific duties include:
- Interfacing with ISOs and/or Program Administrators to refine and implement new program mechanics, coordinate financial settlements, and ensure contract compliance of both parties
- Coordinating with Network Operations Center Analysts to build program management processes
- Developing and managing asset registration and nomination strategies
- Supporting EnerNOC's Marketing, Business Development, and Finance teams
- Representing EnerNOC at relevant ISO/Stakeholder working group meetings and advising management on emerging issues
- Conducting extensive market research and analysis
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:
- 2-3 years of professional experience in energy, finance, consulting, or similar field
- BA/BS degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Great attention to detail and ability to follow through on assigned tasks
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform advanced quantitative analysis
- Strong customer relations skills
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education:
- MS, MBA, CPA or other advanced degree
- Knowledge of statistics, programming, or other analytical discipline
