The New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) seeks a Consultant for the North Brooklyn Energy Grant (NBEG) program. This is a part time position requiring approximately 20 hours per week on an ongoing basis, for a period of at least 3 months.
The NBEG program is a new initiative administered by NYIRN that seeks to help manufacturing companies reduce energy consumption and costs by funding low-cost efficiency upgrades. NYIRN will review grant applications and make determinations about the eligibility of manufacturers that apply for funding. NYIRN is additionally seeking qualified energy service companies and electrical contractors to provide services to the grant recipients, and has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to solicit responses. NYIRN will review those responses and make determinations about the eligibility of interested respondents.
The consultant will be responsible for:
* Working with the Project Manager to review and vet applications to the NBEG program as well as responses to the RFQ;
* mailing notifications to applicants of approval/disapproval;
* working with conditionally approved applicants to help them finalize project scope; and
* working with the Project Manager to conduct site visits before and after project implementation to verify the work completed.
Applicants should have a background (work experience or course work) in government, urban affairs or economic/community development. Experience with energy audits and City/State energy programs a plus. A Bachelor's Degree, 1-3 years professional work experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong computer skills are required.
This position pays an hourly rate of $20 per hour.
