Description

Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI) is launching a program initiative in Southern California to support energy efficiency in large commercial buildings by improving energy performance and building operations. We are seeking energy efficiency (EE) market specialists to work from a home office in Southern California. Program activity will extend throughout the region. 

Key elements of the positon include: 

Relationship Management 

  • Develop relationships with commercial building owners and property managers   
  • Convince building owners to undertake projects to improve their building's operating efficiency   
  • Be the primary point of contact for customers through their project life-cycle (which typically lasts several months)   
  • Manage a large and diverse contact base as well as multiple ongoing projects   
  • Work closely with program coordinators and independent commissioning providers to ensure that customer needs are met and that projects meet the expected timelines and energy savings goals

Energy Efficiency Screening 

  • Screen applicant buildings by interviewing building operators and conducting facility walk-throughs   
  • Work with customers to select and prioritize operational improvements

Program Outreach 

  • Represent the program at local events   
  • Make executive presentations to prospective customers

Desired qualifications and experience: 

  • High energy and persuasive nature   
  • 2+yrs sales experience (preference given to those with experience selling energy efficiency services and/or conducting energy audits)   
  • Technical background in the principles of HVAC and controls or building operations preferred (training may be provided).   
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills   
  • Preference given to candidates with demonstrated commitment to the environment   
  • Windows-based software experience including Word/Excel/Access/Outlook
