Position Overview:
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking applicants to fill the position of Energy Efficient Communities Program Coordinator in the Community Outreach and Education department of Energy Efficiency Services. This role will be responsible for working with communities in PSE's service area on promoting and implementing energy efficiency and customer renewable projects with local governments, businesses and community organizations.
This position links PSE residential and business energy efficiency program targets with community goals, with a large focus on small business outreach. The coordinators will work with local community stakeholders and the energy efficient communities' program manager on the delivery of outreach initiatives to achieve maximum community involvement in PSE's Energy Efficiency programs.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing effective corporate community engagement and corporate responsibility. We are looking for someone who has the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external constituents as well as the ability to utilize creative thinking and problem identification and resolution skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work independently, but also contribute to the overall team goals while embracing a shared vision.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for assessing community energy efficiency potential and coordinating with EES program managers to ensure consistent deliver of EES programs. The Coordinator will be conducting outreach to the small business and contractor community in conjunction with the Business Energy Management team to identify opportunities for energy savings. A focus of this role is also to coordinate with federal economic stimulus grant recipients for energy efficiency to bring PSE program expertise and leverage PSE programs with federal funding.

Qualifications:
Required:
- 3 years experience with program coordination and/or management, planning & budgetary responsibility
- 2 years experience in planning with some budgeting responsibilities
- Experience coordinating and/or managing relationships with internal and external constituents, preferably with some experience working with small businesses
- Experience with trade organizations and/or community outreach
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent communication, organization, presentation and analytical skills.
- Ability to ensure that project initiatives are responsive to community stakeholders and that they are both transparent and non-arbitrary
Desired:
- Basic working understanding of the fields of energy efficiency, building operation, corporate responsibility and business sustainability
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Technical knowledge, mathematical and analytic skills
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Project Management skills and willingness to engage in "hands-on" activities as necessary
- A 4 year degree in communications, community development, business sustainability, public relations or commensurate experience
