Description

The person in this position will be designing renewable energy installations for DNR facilities, managing consultants working on renewable energy systems and energy data collection, organizing and gathering data on DNR's greenhouse gas emissions, reporting emissions to the Climate Registry, working to develop site assessment protocols for renewable energy opportunities, and analyzing and implementing renewable energy strategies that will move DNR toward net zero facility emissions.

Responsibilities: 

Specific duties include managing the RDF grant from Xcel, leading the department's involvement with the Climate Registry, providing renewable energy expertise to facility and site design and construction, participating in DNR energy committees, reviewing energy legislation, and contributing energy knowledge to DNR's legislative agenda.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in architecture, engineering, energy design or closely related field.
- 4 years of advanced professional level experience in renewable energy design, development, or related public program.
- Extensive knowledge of all currently viable renewable energy systems.
- Experience with renewable energy research and development.
- Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions, and conversion data sufficient to convert multiple fuel sources into common language and carbon emission quantities.
- Experience manipulating and querying databases.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems sufficient to serve as a technical expert before departmental policy committees, other public forums and national conferences.
- Knowledge of energy and emission reduction policy goals.
- Ability to communicate orally sufficient to coach and advise other program staff, to speak to individuals and groups and to testify before departmental policy committees and at other public forums.
- Ability to clearly write reports, bulletins, procedures, rules, and correspondence sufficient to describe, promote and justify current and future program initiatives and outcomes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Access.

Compensation: $ 25.51-$ 37.93 hourly, $ 53,265-$ 79,198 annually
