Energy Efficiency Marketer

Matrix Energy Services, Inc has been in the business of saving energy since 2006.  We hold long standing relationships with utility companies who are vested in the effort to reduce energy use and grid demand reduction.  We have experienced certified electricians as well as engineers on staff to ensure our programs are supported with the best skills available. Together, these attributes make Matrix a clear choice when it comes to selecting a service provider to help reduce energy use by installing energy efficient measures; or when a utility needs a team to help launch a new program.

Position Overview

Outside sales positions are available to those who possess a mix of both sales skills and basic technical knowledge related to energy consumption in small businesses. The ideal candidate will have a proven and successful track record of lead generation and door-to-door canvassing. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with small business owners encouraging them to participate in a utility-incentivized energy upgrade at their facility. Technical knowledge will be augmented with our training focused on lighting, HVAC and controls.

This is a full-time position, which offers, PTO, paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance and a matching 401(k) retirement plan. Employee will be compensated a base salary/rate plus commission when earned.*

Qualifications

Core Skills:

• Ability to develop marketing generated leads and to close sales
• Ability to generate leads through canvassing, referrals and networking
• Provide excellent customer service to potential Matrix clients
• Promote business objectives in volume, quality, product and customer mix
• Ability to accurately record and report sales data in Matrix provided equipment
• Ability to take an informative sales approach with potential clients

Job Requirements:

• Outside sales experience
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
• Proficiency with laptop and/or tablet PC including software applications such as MS Office
• Lighting, HVAC and electrical systems knowledge preferred
• Previous experience in energy efficiency assessments and sales preferred
• Must be able to climb ladders and adapt to office environments
• Local travel required for this position
• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license
• Personal vehicle with required insurance
• Bilingual is a plus
• Territory includes SDG&E service territory within SD County (south of Hwy 52)
