The Energy Cooperative connects our members to local energy services, empowering them through group-buying power to stretch their dollars farther and purchase renewable energy sources that help create cleaner, healthier communities. We've been the area's member?owned, nonprofit energy supplier since 1979!

We provide renewable electricity and heating/bioheating oil to over 7,000 members in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties and we're growing fast! We also distribute millions of gallons of biodiesel to many commercial and municipal fleets throughout the region.

Program Description:

The Energy Cooperative has been a licensed retail electricity supplier serving customers since 1998. With the recent expiration of PECO's rate caps, the program has experienced tremendous growth and has earned accolades from the local press. We are the only nonprofit electricity supplier in Southeastern PA and we offer locally?sourced, renewable, affordable electricity.

Our Electricity Program ambition is to offer consumers, institutions and business with electricity that is both environmentally sustainable and empowers households to reduce their energy budget burden.

Position Overview:

The Electricity Program Manager will be responsible for guiding and managing everything from program growth initiatives to power supply contracts. Primarily, your time will be spent actively engaging the community and new business opportunities to expand the Electricity Program in new and existing service territories. This may include speaking engagements, sales presentations and attending events. You will also secure annual contracts with wholesale suppliers in order to maintain the program's power supply portfolio.

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Managing the implementation of the organization's strategic goals for the Electricity Program;
  • Pursuing prospective commercial and residential members;
  • Contracting for and managing supply of electricity and renewable energy credits;

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

This candidate will also possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, and preferably in business fields
  • 3 years experience in the nonprofit or business fields
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Should include MS Excel and database management
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and QuickBooks

Compensation: Annual salary range is $40,000 ? $45,000, contingent upon experience. Generous benefits package includes: health, dental, vision coverage; substantial paid vacation, holiday and sick time; and TransitChek enrollment.

This is a full?time, overtime?exempt position available immediately. Hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday?Friday, with some flexibility owing to fulfillment of business development and other responsibilities.
