Position Overview:

Bloom Energy, a fuel cell start-up company, moving from development stage to commercialization stage, is seeking a Director of Operations Finance.  The successful candidate will partner with Operations and the Global Supply Chain teams to drive significant cost reductions, develop product cost standards, develop, implement and oversee related effective internal controls, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and be responsible for management reporting on manufacturing activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Partner to Chief Operations Officer and Operations executive staff
  • Institutionalize and deploy global manufacturing and cost accounting processes and policies, including inventory controls, work order accounting process flow, monthly and quarterly close process, setting of quarterly standard costs, warranty and extended service costs and reporting, Rollout of manufacturing ERP solutions, etc.
  • Manage the monthly reporting of inventory, gross margins and manufacturing metrics
  • Manage the annual audit of inventory and gross margins.
  • Define cost system structure, format and parameters
  • Key member of cost reduction team
  • Ensure that inventory is properly valued in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist in the management of physical inventories
  • Continuous improvement of existing systems and processes.
  • Provide finance support for business decisions - modeling, forecasting, and RIO analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BS/BA) in Accounting or related field
  • CPA, CMA or advanced degree preferred
  • At least 10+ years of experience; experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Solid experience in industrial cost accounting, a proven expertise in cost systems and strong analytical skills
  • Experience in a global environment and interfacing with international subsidiaries is a plus.
  • Previous experience in developing processes, policies and systems is needed.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are critical in interfacing with manufacturing, operations and management
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP manufacturing modules
