Position Overview: 

PECI is seeking a proven business leader who will strategically develop the Technical Services team into a market leader. The current portfolio of work includes technical research projects, curriculum development, training and outreach, and technical program development. PECI is looking for a business builder who will oversee and grow these existing activities.

The right person will be entrepreneurial and have extensive experience managing and growing a consulting organization, with a proven ability to drive the identification and management of new technical projects, negotiate multi-year contracts, and manage senior client relationships while being fully responsible for the group's business strategy and financial performance. This position requires extensive experience in developing and managing technical consulting projects as well as providing mentorship and guidance to staff members.

The ideal candidate will understand the energy efficiency industry and have a strong consulting background with an ability to manage details and build relationships within the industry. The selected candidate will have demonstrated technical acumen and management experience that includes an understanding of the types of technical consulting projects needed in the industry. Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and lead implementation of business plans to meet and exceed financial goals including revenue generation and growth
  • Provide strategic and business vision for Technical Services group and ensure business objectives are defined, communicated and measured for success
  • Play a strong business development role to build the Technical Services portfolio
  • Direct, develop and motivate employees to ensure enhanced management capabilities to meet strategic and operating objectives
  • Work closely with major clients, key partners and PECI leadership to foster an environment of high quality delivery that is continually being reviewed and improved. 
  • Play an active leadership role in the company and in the energy efficiency community. Promote a culture of active communication, adaptability, initiative, client/customer focus, innovation, and results orientation
  • Represent the company as an effective industry leader and champion for energy efficiency at professional association meetings, conferences and other industry and non-industry events

Qualifications:  

  • Requires 4-year college degree and a minimum 10 years energy efficiency industry experience or equivalent. Master's degree preferred
  • Strong experience managing consulting projects with both public and private sector clients, including providing high quality delivery and budget accountability
  • Prefer experience in multiple energy efficiency sectors including; residential, commercial, industrial
  • Exemplary client relationship skills and strong business development experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a high level leadership role managing a consulting team
  • Experience leading, developing and motivating employees and generating results through the individual and collective team efforts
  • Ability to set and clearly articulate goals and priorities and exhibit a high level of energy and drive to achieve results
  • Achievement in negotiating and managing large contracts, developing key client relationship, business development and staff/resource management
  • Proven effective organizational skills including systematic approach to process and delivery and ability to track, analyze and document results
