Position Overview:

Wisnewski Blair & Associates (WBA), an Architecture/Interior Design Firm in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a Director of Sustainable Design. Candidates must have Sustainable Design and LEED Administration experience and have an architectural background with a focus on large-scale governmental and commercial projects. This has resulted in a thriving LEED Administration business for LEED NC, LEED CS and LEED CI. In addition, recent efforts have focused on working with existing clients toward LEED EBOM certification.

Responsibilities: 

Along with the primary role of LEED Administration for both Firm and non-Firm projects, this position is responsible for:

  • business development;
  • project management;
  • client outreach and general sustainability consultation; and
  • direct support of WBA employees and their projects.

Additional responsibilities and skills include but are not limited to:

  • leading educational efforts in LEED and sustainable design;
  • promoting green practices; collecting and providing design resources;
  • leading the in- house Green Committee efforts;
  • issuing Firm quarterly Green newsletter; and
  • working in conjunction with other management personnel to set strategic goals for the Firm.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be self-motivated and require little direct oversight, have exceptional client skills, and be an effective leader in the Firm.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience
  • Professional Registration
  • Solid Project Management Skills
  • Proficient and working knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, NewForma, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
