Our client company is the world's leading solar cell producer with systems installed everywhere from such demanding environments as satellites & lighthouses to commercial and industrial buildings to the most beautiful, high-tech homes.  They manufacture a full line of solar modules in a wide range of power output levels and lead the industry with practical, efficient, and affordable solar electric systems.

Their  Company's R & D group has led to many important industry innovations and their major investments in the solar field ensures they will continue to expand and improve their line of solar products for years to come -- no other company has made such a powerful commitment to solar energy.  This well-known international company is currently in search of a Director of Project Sales to be located at their group headquarters in So. CA. 

Responsibilities

Functional

  • Develop and execute sales transactions for Large-Scale Solar Project business
  • Define, build and lead the organization as required

Planning

  • Segment the market for large scale systems, including commercial and utility; understand the value proposition for each market and the competition. 
  • In coordination with the Senior Director of Product Development and System Solutions, create a business plan for direct sale of large-scale solar projects.
  • Identify and develop resources needed to successfully execute direct sales business, including financial structures and addressing channel conflict
  • Identify customer needs for new solar business solutions and identify & develop relationships with strategic partners to facilitate entry into new market sectors.

Revenue

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of project business
  • Qualify opportunities, develop and submit proposals based on solid value proposition
  • Create opportunities that lead to closed business
  • This position has overall sales responsibility to create a multi-hundred million dollar business within 5 years

Product

  • Work with product development and business development units to bring new products and services to market based on segment value proposition.

Relationships

  • Position reports to Vice President, Solar Energy Solutions Group
  • Coordinates closely with Product Planning and Development and Business Development units

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least 7 years experience within the Solar Industry and/or Electric Power business
  • Masters degree in business or public administration with emphasis on organizational development
  • Strong leadership and organizations skills
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Experience in project development, financial modeling, and commercial and utility business practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of solar products and programs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight time constraints
  • Ability to work with a variety of other discplines to solve problems and create business opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment is a plus.
  • Up 25% travel including international travel
  • Relocation is provided

Compensation

Base salary of $100K - 120K plus bonus and full comprehensive benefits.
