Director of Environmental Sustainability

PNM is seeking applicants for Director of Environmental Sustainability.

Duties:

• The position is responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and on-going adherence to the Companys environmental policies and strategies.
• The Director will work closely with the Legal, Regulatory, and Governmental Affairs areas of the Company to monitor and/or develop business processes appropriate to the adherence of our environmental sustainability goals.
• This position will also be responsible for ensuring that environmental risk assessment is a routine part of Company business practices.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Business, Masters Degree preferred, with at least seven years related experience, including two years of management experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
• Additionally, this position requires knowledge of environmental management systems, policies and procedures with the ability to advocate for and administer them; knowledge of environmental issues affecting New Mexico and the Western United States; knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines, and the ability to assess impacts as they relate to such disciplines as air, water, renewables and waste; working knowledge of the electric and gas utility industries; and the ability to develop long-term positive relationships with key personnel within PNM and in external agencies.
• Significant public speaking experience is also required.
