~ Longroad Energy is building a world-class organization to work with the growing number of financial investors in the renewable energy sector. ~
Position Overview
This position is located in Texas and will oversee and manage Longroad Energy's renewable energy development activities (principally solar and wind) in Texas.
This role is responsible for overseeing all facets of Longroad's development activities, including prospecting for greenfield projects and leading diligence on project acquisitions. In this role the developer will report to the Chief Development Officer and will coordinate priorities and support with other members of the Longroad team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Integrate with a diverse and remote team of development personnel
- Continually evaluate market and individual project opportunities (greenfield and M&A) in order to create and maintain a market-leading pipeline
- Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the acquisition and negotiation of all material project contracts (e.g., PPA, LGIA, lease agreements). Participate in the negotiation of related material contracts as necessary (EPC, TSA, etc.)
- Manage a department budget
- Participate in senior level management meetings
- Develop the structure, procedures, policies objectives and goals in line with corporate goals, culture and code of conduct
- Hire, supervise and evaluate the performance of team members both directly and indirectly managed within department. Includes providing input to management on corporate, department and regional / site level goals
- Maintain a good working relationship with all vendors and OEMs
- Able to resolve employee problems quickly and efficiently with aid from HR
- Aid in the development of new business opportunities for the company
- Attend meetings as a company representative as required
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management team
- Travel as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Prior successful acquisition and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements, transmission/ interconnection agreements, land leases and all other critical development activities necessary to bring a project to successful financing and into construction
- Experience working with a large, geographically diverse team across multiple time zones and in different energy markets
- Able to communicate clearly regarding technical issues
- Experience with environmental and governmental compliance
- Computer proficiency required
- At least 10 years' experience in Texas power markets.
