Sustainable Harvest is a specialty coffee importer that uses the Relationship Coffee model to bring partners together in a sustainable supply chain that serves everyone involved - from the farmer to the final consumer. Our approach builds direct, transparent market linkages for coffee growers while investing in training and management systems to improve their ability to produce high quality coffee.

Position Overview:

The Fundraising Director is responsible for leading the strategy and the execution of the company's fundraising efforts from both public and private institutional donors to support and scale overseas farmer training programs in Latin America and East Africa. The Fundraising Director will be the primary person responsible for fundraising within the company, developing donor relationships and preparing proposals in a hands-on manner. S/he will also oversee the work of the small development team both in Portland, OR and in field offices.

Qualifications:

5 or more years of experience raising funds from major donors in the international development and/or social enterprise spheres. Experience specifically in rural economic development and agricultural value chains preferred. Strong skills in preparing written proposals and budgets, as well as laying out development strategy. Good working relationships with past funders and the leadership skills to develop strong relationships on behalf of Sustainable Harvest. Fluency in English and intermediate Spanish required. Additional languages are a plus.

Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position based in Sustainable Harvest's headquarters in Portland, OR. The candidate must be willing to travel on occasion and work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.
