AltaMed, with a $40 million operating budget, has a
fundamental commitment to provide medical care to indigent,
uninsured, under-insured, and those in need without regard to ability
to pay.
Duties:

AltaMed is currently seeking an experienced Director of Development.
- The Director of Development coordinates strategies for cultivation and
solicitation of corporate, foundation, and government grants, major
gifts, annual gifts and other fundraising efforts. - S/he participates in
stewardship and recognition of donors and is responsible for
developing and maintaining relationships with key current and
potential donors. - Additionally, the Director of Development manages
and mentors a diverse development department. - S/he assists staff
leadership, the Board and other volunteer leaders in understanding
and fulfilling their roles in fund development. - Finally, the Director of
Development manages the organizational budget, including income
projections. - S/he ensures the database of donors and prospects is
maintained.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible management and
fundraising experience implementing a variety of development
strategies - Verifiable experience in creating effective, comprehensive, strategic
fund development communication and solicitation plans - Proven track record of implementing, managing and coordinating
successful development programs and cultivating and maintaining
donor relationships - Excellent verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to exceed fundraising goals
- Ability to provide support, coaching, and leadership to diverse groups
of people - Ability to interact with individuals of high net worth with tact,
diplomacy and poise - Strong organizational, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills
- Demonstrated ability in managing and working with board, staff and
volunteer leaders - Strong commitment to AltaMeds mission
- Strong computer skills including experience with fundraising databases
- Bilingual English/Spanish desired
