Position Overview:

Apex is seeking a Director of Construction with EXPERIENCE IN THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OF UTILITY SCALE WIND ENERGY PROJECTS.  This candidate would lead all construction related activities including engineering management, budgeting, procurement of long lead and consumables, logistics, civil and electrical contracting, turbine installation and commission, project controls and budgeting. 

Additionally the Director of Construction would have the responsibility for managing relationships with EPC contractors, vendors and key project stakeholders.  Ideal candidate has a track record of delivering quality projects on schedule and within budget.  

Responsibilities:

Schedule and budget responsibility for the construction of utility scale wind farms

  • Manage EPC contractors
  • Negotiate and execute Balance of Plant(BOP) and turbine installation contracts
  • Manage outside civil and electrical engineering and third part independent engineering
  • Coordinate certain late stage development activities including interaction with land owners related to construction activities
  • Manage/obtain certain owner required permits
  • Manage Functional testing and warranty fulfillment of delivered projects

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree - with preferred background in Electrical, civil or mechanical engineering
  • 5 to 10 years minimum of related experience
  • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc.
  • Microsoft Project or Primavera
  • Proven track record in project management
  • Articulate and able to assist in management, client and public presentations                 

Compensation:

  • Base, bonus and equity compensation commensurate with experience, with future growth opportunities
