Our interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and analysts is dedicated to a sustainable future. Founded in 1994 and based in Seattle we have a solid track record of producing outstanding and award-winning work on green building capital projects, development programs, and professional training.
We have expanded our office, team, and service offerings and are currently hiring for all positions. We are seeking experienced professionals in the architectural, engineering, and allied fields who can apply their multi-disciplinary skills to green building consulting opportunities.
POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a business-savvy marketing and communications professional that excels in landing new work, developing business relationships, and maintaining a leadership identity. This position reports to the company's President in our Seattle office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Playing a leading role in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, the director position has responsibilities in sales, business development, and marketing areas. Primary responsibilities include responding to RFPs, generating scopes of work and fee proposals (in collaboration with project managers), interview preparation, and proposal tracking and reporting.
Working with senior management, strategic business development responsibilities include creation of new service offerings, identifying new market opportunities, and fostering new client relationships, leading to improved customer conversion and retention. Marketing responsibilities include management of qualification packages, brochures, presentations, advertising creative, website content, press releases and other promotional and outreach materials and may include the hiring or contracting of outside resources as needed.
The successful candidate has proven experience with competitive differentiation and branding, and can effectively manage coordination of the firm's local and national market presence opportunities in industry events, publications, and trade associations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree, concentration in business/marketing a plus.
- 6-8+ years marketing / sales / business development experience in the A/E industry
- Demonstrated excellence in fee proposal development, writing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated deal closing, business development, team building and leadership abilities
- Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations articulating a leadership position
- Expert user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, PageMaker (or other layout software)
- Passion for the environment (knowledge of LEED and green buildings a big plus)
- Grace under pressure, a sense of humor, a knack for innovation and problem solving

Annual Salary Range: up to mid-seventies, depending on experience
