Duties:
- The Director, CSR Grants and Contracts has as his/her principal responsibility oversight of BSRs efforts to generate funding for innovative projects from charitable foundations, governmental institutions, and multilateral organizations.
- The person in this position will lead the conceptualization, management and administration of such initiatives.
- The Director will report to the Senior VP, CSR Services, and will work closely with the team and practice leaders, the CSR Services Operations Group, and the Member Services unit to ensure the identification and execution of initiatives that support BSRs interest.
- The Director also will ensure the maintenance of good relationships with BSRs funders, and completion of grant and contract supported deliverables.
- The Director will be responsible for the generation of approximately $1.5 million of funds annually in support of CSR initiatives consistent with BSRs strategic direction.
- The Director will take the lead in providing the deliverables for some grants and contract work and engage in modest consulting to member companies in areas of her or his expertise.
The Director, CSR Grants and Contracts will be responsible for the following activities:
Strategic planning to conceptualize and develop the initiatives for which BSR will seek funding
Oversight of research to identify initiatives consistent with BSRs strategy and the interests of potential funders
Management of BSRs ongoing relationship with foundation, government and multilateral funders
Identification of funders interested in supporting BSRs strategic initiatives
Grant writing, follow-up and communication with funders
Leadership of selected grant and contract deliverables not resting specifically within particular industry teams
Provision of selected consulting activities (between 10 and 20% time)
Coordination of Grants and Contracts activities, systems, processes and policies with BSRs Client Services Group and collaboration with the leaders of BSRs Finance, HR and IT functions
Representation of the function and BSR with the board of directors and with external audiences as time permits to advance the mission, goals and strategies of BSR
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in business or a related subject, with a strong preference for an MBA or other relevant graduate degree
- A sophisticated knowledge of relevant global donor organizations, institutions, foundations and governments and a demonstrated record of generating significant funding from them for issues related to corporate social responsibility
- Demonstrated understanding of global private sector perspectives on corporate social responsibility
- Strong knowledge of CSR as it relates to two or more of the following areas, the environment, human rights and social inclusion, global development, and accountability and transparency
- Demonstrated leadership and vision and an entrepreneurial spirit used to expand the dollar (monetary/financial) resources available to a business or business function
- Strong planning, project management, people management and marketing skills
- Outstanding written and oral communications and editing skills
- Direct responsibility for budget development and administration
- A collaborative management style

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with skill, knowledge and experience level and the constraints of a non-profit business organization.
